Paper describes various microelectronic devices currently in use and presents photographic illustrations; microelectronic devices will significantly increase reliability, decrease size and weight, and improve value of general aviation avionic equipment; maintenance concept will change because technicians will identify and replace defective modules rather than troubleshoot circuit in detail so that aircraft downtime will be reduced.
