Experimental work at University of Melbourne, Australia specifically studies case where vehicle speed is changing while making turn; group of six drivers, representing extremes of driving population, drove around series of turns of different deviation angle, at different entry speeds and longitudinal acceleration conditions; experimental results for means lateral acceleration used by drivers are discussed; results show that maximum lateral acceleration increased with deviation angle, entry speed and longitudinal acceleration.
