Description of automatic light-laden valve, developed by Clayton Dewandre Co for automatically varying braking effort according to load carried by axle of commercial vehicle; air under pressure from conventional brake valve is delivered to valve, which acts as automatic pressure-regulator, varying pressure output to brakes in accordance with deflection of road-spring, and therefore load on axle; valve is designed to vary ratio between input and output pressures over range 1 to 1 to 4 to 1; details of installation, components of valve, and performance curves are shown.
