Readiness planning involves those actions by contractor or government which enhance responsiveness and quick actions to unforeseen production demands; actions involve seven areas -- production planning with industry, maintenance of standby facilities in ready condition, maintenance of standby plant equipment, maintenance of active production lines, priorities allocations and urgencies, materials stockpiling, and industrial preparedness measures.
