Moving target such as Intercontinental Ballistic Missile is to be hit by interceptor after latter has completed its power-flight maneuver; it is assumed that only control available for guidance of interceptor missile is normal acceleration due to aerodynamic lift force; problem is to find "best" strategy, i.e., "best " time history of normal acceleration; optimization problem is defined leading to earliest interception; results are given and mathematical derivations can be found in appendix.
