Paper based on experience with maintenance of passenger ships operating in Far Eastern, Australian and Pacific services, round voyage from United Kingdom port taking between two and four months depending on itinerary; discussion considers items requiring maintenance and/or repair, maintenance schedule evolved for these ships, and relative importance in terms of repair costs of items discussed.
