Armstrong, Whitworth and Co, to provide frequent high-speed local service on main or branch lines; when fitted with 95-bhp engine it weighs only 17 1/2 tons in working order; power unit consists of Armstrong-Saurer commercial-vehicle, 6-cyl engine, directly coupled to generator which is bolted to crankcase.
