Portions of navigation satellite system concept which provides position information, traffic control, and communications to aircraft and ships are described; it determines position by making measurements of distance and direction from satellite using radar and interferometer techniques; computation of position utilizes input of satellite location, interferometer attitude and spacing, phase measurements of interferometers, and distance from satellite to aircraft or ship.
