Repeated impact tests of welded rails; kloeckner-Werke A-G, Osnabrueck, have subjected large number of welded rails to repeated drop tests; tests revealed that welds were in every respect superior to bolted fishplate joints; electric arc welding of rails by Kloeckner process yields particularly sound and reliable joint.
