In design of ship it is often necessary to consider effect of rolling and pitching on such structures as decks at ends of ship, masts, smokestacks, boat davits, anchor windlass, and others; it is advantageous to calculate acceleration factors once and for all, and plot them in set of curves so that complete effect of rolling and pitching may at once be read off for any location on ship; theoretical mathematical study.
