Engineering methodology and techniques, applied at Univ of California to 12 intersection automobile collision experiments, provided data on 4 speeds and 3 positions of impact; data include tri-axial acceleration patterns for motorist head and chest and passenger compartment; factors associated with door latch failure and motorist ejection; protection provided by shoulder strap and lap belt combination; collision dynamics; programming of collision transducer patterns for data reduction by 7090 computer.
