25 40-ton cars built by St. Louis Refrigerator Car Co; use of plywood saves about 6000 lb in weight; dead air space largely used for insulation; car interior well drained for special loading; load limit 81,900 lb; capacity 2416 cu ft; inside length 40 ft 1 1/2 in.; width 8 ft 2 in., and height 7 ft 4 1/2 in.; trucks are 80,000lb capacity, spring-plankless, National Type B, with 5-in. by 9-in. journals.
