Experiments described were carried out on central area of Road Research Laboratory's research track, and were designed to compare saturation rates of flow, when vehicles turn through right angle, for different radii of turn; single-line and double-line turns were tested; traffic flowed from only one direction during any given cycle and, in order to counteract any differences in layout or slope of central area, direction alternated in successive cycles.
