Some years ago Standard Oil Development Co set out to produce aviation gasoline having all of power characteristics of high octane fuels but endowed with new qualities to minimize handling hazards; purpose was to seek fuel which, when exposed to air at normal temperatures, would not develop inflammable envelope of vapors, as ordinary aviation gasoline does; notes on product developed and results of tests.
