Liner trains combine road and rail movement in such way as to take advantage of both; design and construction reflect important basic requirements of liner train operation; high speeds up to maximum of 75 mph are proposed, which means that truck type of car is essential; analysis and illustration of covered and open road-rail containers; use of aluminum indicated.
