Development of new 4-cycle, naturally aspirated, 60° Vee diesel engine by GMC's Truck and Coach Div is described; 478-cu-in. engine is available in 2 gross hp ratings, 150 and 170 hp, both at 3200 rpm; maximum gross torque is 275 lb-ft at 2000 rpm in 150 hp engine and 310 lb-ft at 2000 rpm in 170 hp engine; compression ratio is 17.5:1 and dry weight is 950 lb.
