Brief note and photographs of XS-1 rocket propelled flying research laboratory produced by cooperative effort by AAF, Bell Aircraft and NACA; craft will be used for recording data on effect of transonic and supersonic speeds on aircraft; span 28 ft; length 31 ft; height 10 ft 10 in.; designed eventually to fly at top speed of 1700 mph and at altitude of 80,000 ft.
