Illustrated description of KM-4 automotive knockometer developed by Sperry Gyroscope Co from known aviation knock instrumentation methods; problems of satisfactory signal pick-up are solved; equipment detects and measures knock level, detects which cylinders are knocking, records knock level against traces from which speed may be measured, and assists in analysis of abnormal engine vibration conditions.
