As result of Netherlands State Railways requirement for large number of high powered, fast, single deck, 48-seat bus chassis having Diesel engines as prime movers Crossley Motors developed their standard 8.6-liter 6-cyl 4-stroke unit by making modifications such that maximum bhp has been increased from 100 to 152 at 1750 rpm; illustrated description.
