Study reported deals with utilization of light cruisers, several of which have become surplus material, and probably would be available at favorable price; authors have investigated technical possibility of converting vessels into express liners capable of carrying 400 to 500 passengers at operating speed of 26 to 28 knots; 1-class ship proposed with accommodations for 482 passengers and crew of 300; dimensions given.
