2500 plywood "palletized containers" in use on Pacific Lines of Southern Pacific have cut manual handling of less than carload shipments to minimum; container weighs 320 lb, is 42 in. wide, 45 in. long and 6 ft high; while maximum load limit is 3500 lb, average lading runs about 1500 lb; 10 containers can be accommodated in 22-ft trailer.
