Shortly before "D" day it was anticipated that large number of landing craft and other vessels would suffer damage during landing; it was necessary for provision to be made for these craft to be repaired on spot by means of floating docks; author describes manner in which docks were built in reinforced concrete at rate of one every 4 weeks.
