New type of system which will enable divers to work underwater for periods of up to 45 min has been put into operation on shelf area along Spanish coast; it was developed by Draegerwerk-Luebeck; main advantage is use of "elevator" method; installation is in two parts, and divers enter small pressure chamber, similar to elevator, which is submerged to site of operation; divers then leave chamber wearing their self-contained deep-diving apparatus, etc; sketches are included.
