Launch-to-mission completion targeting techniques and computer program descriptions are presented which have been employed in support of Ranger/Mariner Lunar and Interplanetary Program; requirements for effective and highly automated targeting and firing table generation program are discussed in relation to high density launch schedule and precise trajectory information required; ascent guidance philosophy, guidance constants mechanization, and preflight/post-flight trajectory efforts are described.
