Reinforced plastics currently used are phenol resin reinforced with cotton cloth, epoxy resin reinforced with fiberglass, combination of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin with nylon cloth, and polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass; their properties, procedures for utilization, and application to components of naval and merchant ships and smaller boats such as pilot vessels and yachts are described.
