Some results of practical operation of hovercraft are given; it is shown that even in rough water accelerations measured are not excessive and that there is good reserve of structural strength; drag in shallow water is not as great as was anticipated; effects of spray and means of combating it are discussed; economics are examined and possible break-even fares compared with those for existing vehicles.
