Signal Automatic Air Traffic Control system in use for 2 yr at Schiphol Int Airport in Holland is designed to be introduced in graduated stages; Phase I comprises data input teleprinter, 2 output teleprinters, wind-data input device and runway-in-use control; tabulation of essential Phase I features; assessment of results obtained; big step forward in Phase II will be employment of fully automatic flight progress boards; proposed tabular display of flight progress information for Phase II is shown; developments envisaged in Phase III.
