Stability and control systems adopted by Bell Aircraft Corp and for Short S.C.1 are discussed with regard to efficiency; importance of low loss nozzle systems; form of auto stabilization and its application to aircraft control system are governed by operating requirements of VTOL aircraft; lift engine intake problems and interaction effects of airflow passing through lift engines on airframe are considered; ground effects and novel model testing techniques, future research needed.
