First of 200 new cars completed in Derby Carriage and Wagon Works of London Midland and Scottish Railway; length 57 ft; width 9 ft; seating accommodation for 42 passengers in 7 compartments; tare weight 30 tons 14 cwt; trucks are of standard LMSR 4-wheel type with 9 ft wheelbase; they have arc welded frames and tired rolled steel disk wheels with 9 in. x 4 5/8 in. axle journals.
