All-steel tugs of single screw, Navy YTB type completed at Bethlehem Steel Company's yard at San Pedro, Calif, will be used for combined harbor and sea duty; length 100 ft; breadth molded 25 ft; mean draft 9 ft 7 in.; propelled by two 6-cyl, 2-cycle, V-type, solid injection, Model 6-278 General Motors Diesel engines developing 600 bhp at 750 rpm; engines are directly coupled to General Electric d-c generators with 250-v, 410-kw output.
