Ship-model correlation data made available to British Towing Tank Panel for 161 loaded trials on 125 single-screw tankers were analyzed jointly by British Ship Research Assn and Ship Div, National Physical Laboratory, for purpose of devising reliable method of predicting correlation factors for loaded tankers; some data were obtained from trials carried out after entry into service; scatter in data is discussed with reference to factors given in estimating equations, hull roughness, inaccuracies in model and ship data, scatter in fairing process, and scale effect on propulsion.
