History of background and first year operating results of SFO Helicopter Airlines; basic factors which led to success were area of operation, capital structure, management personnel, equipment, and quality of service; helicopter service provides link in airline connection, but additional area where expansion can take place are intercity and commuter service; within 5 yr, new equipment such as Skycrane and 100-passenger rotary wing transports will be available to provide for safe short-haul air travel.
