Approach taken by Allison Div General Motors Corp and program developed in laboratory testing of full torque shifting transmissions for heavy duty vehicles under simulated field conditions; program included accurate work cycle information relating to different applications, quick means of reducing field data acquired, and durability testing facility; description of mobile data laboratory; simulated duty cycles operating in laboratory durability installations include loader, track laying, crawler, on highway, and rear dump vehicles; results obtained.
