Down to 1927, there were 21 locomotive works in existence; since then nine of them have been absorbed by others or discontinued, while remaining 12 still have output capacity of 3000 locomotives per annum; as result of negotiations between locomotive firms and railway authorities, latter propose to allot exclusively to five or six works at most, contracts for 300 locomotives to be delivered during next three years; strong opposition method of distribution has been brought forward by those firms which are not to receive any of orders.
