Thorold was specially designed to take paper from mills on Canadian side of lakes to United States side; 250 ft. long has four holds, four hatches, two masts, two 3-ton steel derricks, electric windlass, four electric winches for cargo and mooring purposes also electric winch fitted aft for warping purposes; propelled by single-acting, 2-stroke, 4-cylinder, 470 mm. oil engine of 1000 b.hp. supplied by Sulzer Bros.
