Problems of government regulation of 90,000 vehicles used in public passenger transportation, operating over more than 700,000 miles of route, transporting nearly two billion passengers annually, with gross revenue of nearly $400,000,000 and with total investment of more than $500,000,000; about 40,000 of these buses operate over regular schedules; remainder being used as school buses, sight-seeing buses, and similar miscellaneous service.
