On return voyage from Buenos Aires and Curacao, "Megara" put into Thames Haven with cargo of 10,000 tons of oil fuel; voyage and return totalled 17,800 mi., during which time engines were only stopped when taking in or dis-changing cargo; running of engines throughout voyage was without incident, and no repairs were needed; machinery comprises two sets of 6-cylinder single-acting 4-stroke Werkspoor engines; design of supercharging arrangements had to be adapted to existing engines.
