Built by Halifax Shipyards, for service in Hudson Straits in connection with new Hudson Bay Railway; length, o.a. 277 ft., breadth, molded 60 ft.; depth, molded to upper deck 31 ft.; gross tonnage 3254 tons, displacement 5034 tons; propelling machinery, supplied by Collingwood Shipyards, consists of two sets of triple-expansion surface-condensing engines having cylinders 27 1/2, 43, and 70 in. diam., with piston stroke of 42 in., which together are capable of developing 6500 i.hp. when running at speed of 105 r.p.m. (See also Shipbldg. and Shipg.
