Increasing complexity of aircraft structures is creating new problems in structural analysis, in particular, in areas of static and dynamic loads analysis, stress analysis, statistical methods, fatigue, flutter, acoustics, and associated fields, including aerodynamics and heat transfer; computer programs for design use must be technically sound, efficient in use of computer time, rapid in providing answers for design, and simple enough to minimize training requirements; existing methods are reviewed and recommendations are made for future developments.
