U S Air Force has nine general depots and organization at Tucson, Ariz, that stores and reclaims excess aircraft; depots procure, store and issue spare parts and provide in-service engineering and heavy maintenance for all combat weapon systems of Air Force; paper shows how Air Force is improving its spares management program through use of electronic data processing equipments, its personnel skill level through training and higher eduation, and by instituting management control systems to insure reliability of data output.
