Review of work carried out under auspices of Structures and Materials Panel of AGARD; collection of statistical data of runways and taxitracks; establishment of runway roughness criteria; existing runway or road measuring systems and their shortcomings; methods for measuring range of wavelengths from 4 to 200 ft and design of NLR slope measuring system; description of provisional realization of this system is given and results of comparative measurements with provisional system and with precision level-and-rod apparatus are presented; possible future extensions of work are indicated.
