Several kinds of running tests were carried out using prototype cars to solve problems pointed out from previous tests concerning insufficient braking force, failure of electric brake, wheel slip and heat crack or deformation of brake disk; laboratory tests were performed on metallic brake linings with about 10 kinds of copper-base sintered alloys and their friction and wear characteristics were measured.
