Investigation to determine effect of gasoline volatility on tendency of aviation gasolines to gas lock in airplane fuel lines and feed pumps; data show definite relationship between vapor locking tendencies and 10 per cent points in A.S.T.M. distillation test; average boiling point is only roughly indicative of tendency; initial boiling point is less satisfactory indication than 10 per cent point.
