City of 65,000 persons, directly north of Chicago, decreased motor accidents 40 per cent in 1930 while accidents in Cook County (of which both Evanston and Chicago are part) increased 16 per cent previous year; since Bureau's formation, Evanston has been officially named third safest city of United States.
