Single-screw turbine geared passenger and cargo liner built by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp. at Fore River plant, Quincy, Mass., for New York and Porto Rico line; length o.a. 429 ft.; beam molded 59 ft. 6 in.; displacement tonnage 11,000; propulsive machinery consists of single-reduction geared turbines of reaction type; turbines develop 6500 hp.; steam supplied by four Babcock and Wilcox water-tube boilers.
