New features of design are described; length, 938 ft., width 98 ft., gross tonnage of 50,000; propelled by four bronze screws driven by geared-turbine machinery, one unit driving each propeller; each unit consists of high, intermediate and low-pressure turbine, running at 1800 r.p.m. geared down to propeller speed of 180 r.p.m. by means of single reduction gears; turbines will develop total of 120,000 shaft hp.; Oertz streamline rudder is installed.
