In order to avoid obstructing traffic by tearing up intersections, 344 ft of 96-in. concrete storm drain is being jacked under railroad in Oakland, Calif; two 100-ton hydraulic jacks are pushed by pump, capable of developing up to 10,000 psi, powered by 18-hp, 4-cyl, gasoline engine; work procedure.
