Two types of airplane brakes developed by Vickers (Aviation), Ltd.; compensated brakes for twin-engine machines consist of pilot's control, comprising lever-operated oil pump with reservoir, necessary pipe line, and brake unit mounted on axle of each wheel; in steerable brakes there is special distributing valve coupled to pilot's rudder bar which enables brakes to be used to assist steering on ground.
