Opinions regarding airplane construction are expressed with examples taken from manufacture of all-metal Flamingo; question of capacity and speed of transport planes; manufacturer must design utility equipment which can be readily switched from one class of service to entirely different class when occasion demands, without loss of time or excessive cost to transport operator; problem of designing that will not become obsolete in course of few years.
