Berwindlea has four cargo holds; length 390 ft.; breadth, molded 52 ft.; depth, molded to upper deck, 31 ft.; service speed 10 knots; hatches are provided with Hogg-Carr corrugated hatch-covers; vessel propelled by single triple-expansion engine; steam supplied to engine by two single-ended three-furnace Scotch boilers 16 ft. 6 in. internal diam. by 12 ft. 6 in. long, 200 lb. pressure.
